Hello everyobdy! This is the second issue of the nuSTUDIOS newsletter, a biweekly newsletter aimed at updating members of the happenings in our club.
In the upcoming two weeks, expect WE ? FILMS and the second installation to the Scriptwriting Workshop. Remember to keep your Wednesdays free for nuSTUDIOS! We also have exciting news to share: a fewllos nuSTUDIOS member has won a prestigious award from NUS. Read on to find out!

Scriptwriting + Film! (Exclusive for members)
Next week, we will be having our second WE ? FILMS of the year. This time, the event will be held in the Central Library, and a full length movie will be shown instead of several short films. The film that we will be screening is Closer, a movie that studies the complex relationships between four people. Click on the link if you want to find out more.

AND…the following week, we will be having our second session of Scriptwriting Workshop, which is open to all members of nuSTUDIOS. During the session, we will be discussing on character development and scene causality . For people who have missed the first session, you are still welcome to come for the second session.

Derek Tan – NUS SSA Recipient!
We are pleased and honoured to announce that our President 06/07 of nuSTUDIOS , Derek Tan, is the recipient of the NUS Student Achievement Awards (SSA) 2008. SSA is an award launched in 2004 to recognise talents and contributions of students or student groups. Derek is selected out of 200 nominations this year. Congratulations, Derek!

Scriptwriting Workshop 1
We had our first scriptwriting workshop on Wednesday, 4th of February, 2009. Ian Goh, our scriptwriting head, imparted the basics of scriptwriting and also shared many useful tips in writing a great script. The session ended with a ‘day-dreaming’ excerise and a little hands-on in scriptwriting. All in all, everyone who came down for the workshop walked away learning something useful.

Film Camp is coming again in 2009! Is anyone interested in being part of the organising committee for Film Camp 2009 tentatively held in July? Interested members can email Sabrina at sabrina@nustudios.org with your contact details and interested positions. Positions available are Assistant Project Director.
Also, script market is coming up. More details will be given in the next newsletter. For those who have a script idea that you want to share, do start writing it out now!
