Film, as an art form or popular entertainment, is generally a passive medium, requiring the viewing of a completed work rather than an artistic process. This installation aims to allow audience interaction with film by creating a space for audiences to view a single film in different components, forming an impression based on its parts before watching the film as a whole. This allows the audience to appreciate film as an art form in closer proximity, moving beyond a two dimensional space to one that enables the use of all senses.

Titled Road Trip, this nuSTUDIOS screening aims to showcase three films produced by our very own members, of which two are directorial debuts. Life is a journey posing many obstacles and countless unanswered questions. These three films share the stories of how these three individuals discover themselves upon embarking the road called ‘life’. Date: 20 March 2009 Time: 7.15pm Venue: LT32 (near University Hall) Admission: Free
Synopsis of Wind:
What are we as humans without and with nature? What is nature’s role in our lives, especially for us urban dwellers? This short film tackles that question as two urbanites rush off to a place during their break from work.
Synopsis of The Last Lap:
JEAN has a dream, which is to go to a sports school and become a professional athlete. However, life is not as smooth-sailing as she is thrust into a class of non-athletes and has to struggle against the flow of a rigid and academic-driven society. In her attempt to pursue the unconventional, JEAN has one last lap to break through- her inner state of mind.
Synopsis of Definition:
Like the most of us, ALVIN is constantly searching for the ever-so-elusive meaning of life. However, unlike the most of us, he has his eccentric and worldly-wise (also easily mistaken to be as loopy as a rollercoaster ride) best friend SIMON to help him in his quest to find the true value of the things most coveted by everyone – power, money and love. Join ALVIN as he unwittingly embarks on a wacky journey of self-discovery (where he learns of things he would rather not know), experiences mixed emotions (of sadness and guilt), and ultimately unravels the mystery that surrounds the answer which he seeks, SIMON’s bizarre behaviour, and…good oral hygiene.
There will be a sharing session after the screening by the cast and crew of the films.
